Special Edition Vinyl Albums

What makes a special edition record? Basically anything that was not meant to be released is a special edition. Some times anniversary records or special shows and milestones records are special editions. Greatest Hits records are special editions. The thing that makes them more special and more sought after is that they are on vinyl. Special Edition CD’s are not collectibles, at least not yet.
Anything out of print or a rare recording is a collectible if it happens to be a special edition then it is a bonus. You can find these records in vintage stores and in auction houses and even sometimes in garage sales or maybe in your grandparent’s attic. You can probably find many great special edition vinyl records.
Your grandparents probably don’t care that they are worth money; they keep them because it was a time in their lives where they have memories from that era. Next time you are over at their house ask them if they have any vinyl records and then see how many you can find that are special editions and worth something. They may not let you take them but it’s worth a try. Try looking on line or in your local vintage or thrift store and you may be able to find something to add to your collections.
